Westchester County Airport staff want to ensure a healthy and safe environment for travelers, visitors, employees and the communities around the airport.

We have implemented our new Safe Hands© protocol which includes UV‐C sanitized escalator rails, anti‐cough barriers, touchless hand sanitizing stations, floor signs for social distancing, advanced bipolar air ionization and air quality monitoring.

The Westchester Security Department is responsible for managing and implementing an effective Airport Security Program that ensures a safe and secure environment, while exceeding customers' expectations and complying with federal and local regulations and laws.

The Badging Office provides information to airport employees and tenants on the badging process and other matters related to working at the airport.

The Security Department is not in charge of passenger screening, parking, airport schedules or lost and found.  For Passenger and Baggage Screening or Checkpoint questions, contact the TSA at (866) 289-9673.  For parking information call (914) 946-0843. For Airport Holiday Schedules (see below), call (914) 995-4860. For Lost and Found, call (914) 995-6222.

Application Process and Forms
Individuals who require unescorted access to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) or the Air Operations Area (AOA) at Westchester County Airport must have an Airport Identification Badge.  Badge issuance is limited to individuals who have cleared the associated background checks for the badge they are applying for and have a frequent and recurring need for access.  All badge applicants must also provide two forms of identification establishing identity and employment eligibility. Refer to the I9 List of Acceptable Documents for further information.

All applicants must submit the HPN Badge/Access Application form that must be completed and signed by the applicant's Authorized Signer and submitted to the Westchester County Airport ID Office for processing. The form will be reviewed by the Airport's ID office for accuracy. The following are descriptions of airport badges:

  • SIDA Badge Application: This badge is for employees who work on the commercial airline ramp at the main terminal. An FBI-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA) are required and conducted every two years during badge renewal. The fingerprinting fee for initial applications and renewals is $35.
  • Company or "CO" Badge application: This badge is for those employees who work for airport tenants or sub-tenants. A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA) is conducted every two years during badge renewal; and either a 10-year Employment Verification (to be signed by your company's Authorized Signer) or an FBI-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) can be completed in place of the 10-year employment verification. The $35.00 fingerprinting fee for initial applications and renewals is charged when the 10-year employment verification is not submitted.
  • FBO Access Badge application: This badge is for individuals who are directly employed by a fixed-based operator who do not have a need to be on the commercial airline ramp. An FBI-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA) are required and conducted every two years during badge renewal. The fingerprinting fee for initial applications and renewals is $35.
  • General Aviation or "GA" Badge application: This badge is for individuals who are pilots of light general aviation aircraft based out of Million Air or Landmark West facilities. A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA) is required and conducted every two years during badge renewal.

If your badge is lost, stolen or destroyed, complete a Badge Replacement application and notify the Security ID office or operations immediately. Conversely, if you are terminated or resign from a position at the airport, you must complete an Identification Cancellation Form in accordance with Westchester County Airport and TSA rules and regulations.

Lost badges are to be reported with the Badge Replacement application in addition to immediate notification to either the Airport Security ID Office at (914) 995-4009 or Airport Operations at (914) 995-4850.

Lost keys are also required to be reported through the Lost Key Application in addition to immediate notification to either the Airport Security ID Office at (914) 995-4009 or Airport Operations at (914) 995-4850.
